I used this travel adapter on a UK trip and it was fantastic. We would spend all day hiking and exploring, and then at night this adapter would charge an iPad, two phones, and multiple battery banks. Having all the USB-C ports was a lifesaver for modern devices, but the USB-A port was also used constantly. I only used the US wall socket for my iPad charger when all the USB-C ports were full, but beware that it doesn’t transform voltage, so be sure your device can handle it before using.This andapter accidentally got packed in my daypack for a 12 mile hike through the Yorkshire Dales, but it was lightweight and compact enough that I didn’t notice it was there. I bought this to run with my wifes 120V hair drier description sadi it put out 2500W. Once I received it I read the voltage and Watts on each plug and it was only 1200W for the 120. It can put out 2500W for the 220V line. The verbiage for this unit is very misleading, it will not power a normal hair dryer.

I'm a fan of the Tessan travel adapter because they tend to be smaller than the competitors and often have 2x AC plugs. This newer slim version does save you some space, it's only 9.8in³ vs. 11.1in³ for the more blocky version shown in my photos. I find the longer thinner shape (versus the more cubic shape) easier to pack as well. It provides a decent amount of power (20W max) and have good documentation on USB output (1 vs. multiple plugs in use). The front 2 20W ports were fast charging my mobile, while the side 2 15W ports were not. The different style plugs are cleverly designed to be compact and also prevent you from using more than one at a time. Getting the Type A plug to lock out is a bit clunky, but I found the best way is to keep the button depressed while pushing all the way …

I am normally a big fan of TESSAN. I did just have one USB power strip have a port prematurely fail, though, so that's now a major concern. Still, not a reason to rate this one low. What I will say, is that it appears to be decent quality, it's thoughtfully designed with texture and not just a mass-produced stamped version of another generic item. However, what lowered the rating for me is that I have higher rated wattage adapters that are slimmer and smaller than this one. If I'm going to take a 20W adapter, which is really only useful for slow to medium charging phones, I would have expected and even smaller adapter. I would love to see an ultra-slim or slim adapter at 45W or 65W in this size so I could double for some of my power efficient laptops or tablets.

Even if you don't travel a lot, these are a great option to have for when you actually need them.
